Samsung B2100 Solid Extreme Mobile Cell Phone
Author: Andrew LeechMost manufacturers have been a bit slow on the uptake with "toughphones". Nokia tried it a few years ago with a massive brick of a device & then subsequently gave up on them even after the enourmously popular 5140i. Sony Ericsson tried it with the R210 but that was about 7 years ago and they too gave up on them. Time passed and then last year Samsung unveiled the M110 Solid......& it was a massive hit !
The Samsung Solid M110 was popular with everyone as it was cheap, chunky to grip & remarkably tough. The downside was the terribly small display and the very basic features that went with it. The new Samsung Solid Extreme addresses those issues and makes for a simply fantastic handset thats suitable for anyone and everyone.
The Solid B2100 surpasses the previous model in every department & it is now IP57 certified - which in plain English means that it's waterproof to a depth of 1 metre, can withstand temperatures between -20 and +60 degrees celcius & it's highly shockproof - in other words, this is one tough phone !
The Samsung B2100 is finished with a rubberised finish so it's very "grippy" to the touch and won't be falling from your clutches in wet weather. It also has a built-in torch which is a particularly handy feature that you'd think manufacturers would include more often on other handsets.
Although the B2100 isn't the most technical mobile that you'll ever own, it's no simpleton either. The menu is remarkably quick with smooth graphics and it has an FM radio, multimedia player and expandable memory upto 8Gb. The camera is a fairly simple but more than adequate 1.3 megapixels. Battery life on the B2100 is pretty impressive too with upto 600 hours of stanby time & 9 hours of talktime.
